As part of the meetings planned by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SMBDA) in the regions in September 2026, an online meeting was held on September 15 on the topic of “Recent developments in the state registration of startups, micro and small businesses, and commercial legal entities.”
The meeting was attended by Isa Gasimov, Head of the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC).
In his speech, Isa Gasimov discussed the potential impact of recent developments in the state registration of startups, micro and small businesses, and commercial legal entities on the development of the business environment and the facilitation of entrepreneurial activities. He also shared information on approaches applied in global practice and highlighted the opportunities created for businesses by the reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan.
Speaking about the initiatives implemented by the Enterprise Azerbaijan portal, Isa Gasimov also provided information about the “Startup School 4 – Five Continents – 500 Startups” global innovation program. It was noted that these initiatives, implemented in cooperation with international partners, contribute to the development of Azerbaijan’s startup ecosystem, expanding opportunities for local startups to access international markets, strengthening their connections with investors, and increasing the country’s investment attractiveness.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of public-private cooperation in developing the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem, creating a favorable institutional environment for businesses, and expanding financing opportunities for innovative projects.
Participants’ questions were answered during the meeting, followed by an exchange of views on the topic.
