As part of efforts to expand the international partnership network of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal, operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), an online meeting was held with Murat Demirez, a representative of International House Tampere Employer and Talent Services in Finland.
During the meeting, information was provided on the activities of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal, its role in advancing Azerbaijan’s innovation and startup ecosystem, its international partnership priorities, as well as initiatives aimed at supporting the development of local startups and facilitating their access to international markets.
Murat Demirez delivered a presentation on Finland’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, the opportunities available to startups and investors, the complementary role of the public sector in supporting investment and innovation initiatives, and the startup and technology ecosystem of Tampere.
The discussions focused particularly on Finland’s experience in integrating local and international startups into the ecosystem, creating soft-landing opportunities, facilitating access to international markets, establishing test environments for piloting innovative solutions, and providing institutional support to startups.
The meeting also addressed prospects for strengthening cooperation between “Enterprise Azerbaijan” and the Tampere startup ecosystem, promoting mutual support and the internationalisation of startups, expanding connections among investors and ecosystem stakeholders, and facilitating the exchange of expertise and opportunities between the two ecosystems.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to further explore cooperation opportunities in the identified areas and continue discussions towards establishing practical avenues for collaboration.
